Climate neutral hosting
We are pleased to be the first Swiss Internet provider that is able to host your Internet presence in a climate neutral manner. Automobiles and oil-fired heaters are not the only sources of CO2 that pollute our environment. Users of the Internet also contribute to the emission of pollutants and thereby often unconsciously add to the harming of the environment.
Our computer centres ensure a secure implementation of your Internet presence. However, the server systems cause a considerable quantity of CO2 emissions. In order to counter this environmental impact, Nine supports climate protection projects in Switzerland in cooperation with the myclimate foundation. In this manner, we fully offset our CO2 emissions and operate in a climate neutral manner.
Participation
We also want to offer this service to our customers, so that they can make their own contribution to the protection of the climate. For this reason, we offer the option "climate neutral". The resulting funds directly flow into a Swiss climate protection project.
In consultation with myclimate we defined a minimum monthly contribution of CHF 2.- for VServers in which several customers share a server system. Any overbooking is transferred in full to myclimate and utilised for additional climate protection projects as well as for environmental education.
The contributions of the customers for climate protection are to be seen as an additional contribution. We will fully finance the compensation of our emissions in any case.
Nine processes the entire administrative procedure with myclimate. Therefore the customer has got the opportunity to protect efficiently the climate without taking in charge additional expenses. This is a very innovative way.
