nine.ch opens its doors for Informatiktage

Jasmine Schläfli Apr 21, 2016

The greater Zurich region will be hosting Informatiktage for the first time on June 3rd to 4th 2016. Over two days, more than 70 companies will open their doors to interested visitors and offer an exciting glimpse into the fascinating world of computer science.

nine.ch is also taking part: we will be hosting the IT-Fest Albisrieden in collaboration with Atos, Cablex, IC Consult, Siemens, the City of Zurich’s IT authority (OIZ), Swico and Unify. The companies taking part in the event will offer visitors a wide range of exciting opportunities to learn more about the world of computer science.

“nine.ch: behind the scenes of websites” - this will be our theme as we open our doors to visitors. We have put together an interesting program for all age groups.

On Friday, June 3rd 2016, students from schools around the region can learn how to run extensive tests on a server as well as securely delete the contents of hard disks, including a demonstration with our degausser.

On Saturday, June 4th 2016 from 11am to 5pm, the big IT event will kick off at the grounds of our offices in Albisrieden. During these hours, nine.ch will be offering several exclusive tours of our data centres for groups of up to five. Visitors can also stop by our booth and see what goes on inside a server and learn how to securely delete data on hard disks. We’ll also be happy to show how our degausser works on visitors’ hard disks. For the little ones, we’ve created a memory game that offers a fun way to see what happens behind the scenes of websites. We will also be giving out some tasty prizes to those who take part in our quiz.

nine.ch will also be attending the “stories from the IT world” held in the building of the City of Zurich’s IT authority (OIZ). The Head of Product Management & Customer Solution Architect at nine.ch will show visitors what goes on in the background when a website is visited via a browser.

All events are free to visitors. On-site catering will be provided for the event.

We look forward to your visit - hopefully with the whole family!
