Information

About the Product

Managed Kubernetes is for customers seeking a production-ready container environment without the complexity of managing a cluster or ancillary services. With NKE, your data stays securely in Switzerland, running on our local infrastructure, in our own computing network. If you're looking for global scalability, we also offer the managed Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), leveraging Google's worldwide datacenter infrastructure.

More about Managed Kubernetes
Knowing Your Needs
At Nine, we know that having a bulletproof, production-ready Kubernetes environment is not just about managing a cluster. It involves monitoring, logging, backups, continuous deployment and all the other tools and services which you need to be confident that your application is working as intended.
What We Offer
Nine's unique Kubernetes offering provides you with industry standard software and offers an end-to-end Kubernetes experience, supported by a knowledgeable and accredited team, and backed by an SLA. We offer additional application monitoring via managed Prometheus and Grafana, thus giving you insight into your application performance and allowing you to create alerts. Our alternative to Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) – managed by us for your business.
Complete Flexibility
Our managed Kubernetes product gives you the full flexibility of choosing Google Cloud Platform or Nine's Swiss data centres for your data or databases. Thanks to cloud computing, your cluster can run in any region, and you can use a wide variety of virtual machine types to create workload-specific node pools. We integrate other services into your cluster, enabling you to utilise anything you need for your application.
Performance, Security and Stability
Our software stack is separate from customer applications and we ensure the security and stability of your applications. We fully manage any software that we provide, and keep it up to date with the latest security patches and bug fixes. We monitor the software stack 24×7 to ensure that it works whenever you need it.
Certified Specialists
Our experts all hold Certified Kubernetes Administrator and/or Google Cloud Professional Architect certifications and work every day with the tools we offer you. If you need help, whether with writing a correct configuration or conducting a comprehensive audit of your cluster, we are there for you and help you make the most of Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform.
Autoscaling your workload
Our autoscaling feature enables you to worry less about capacity planning and ensures the uptime of your services, even during load peaks. All this while you only pay the resources that are needed at any given moment. With autoscaling configured, NKE automatically adds new node(s) to your cluster if you've created new Pods that don't have enough capacity to run. Conversely, if a node in your cluster is underutilized and its Pods can be run on other nodes, the autoscaler can delete the node.
Nine Managed Kubernetes Engine (NKE)
The Nine Kubernetes Engine (NKE) is our fully managed Kubernetes hosted in Nine-operated local datacenters in Switzerland. This ensures full data residency within Switzerland and includes integrated identity management for enhanced security. It can be supplemented by additional managed services, allowing you to focus entirely on your application development while we handle the infrastructure and management of your Kubernetes environment. If you do not want to have Google involved, NKE is the ideal choice.
Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Managed by Nine
This is a platform, based on Google's Kubernetes Engine and additional services that let you focus on your application development. Running containers in production isn't easy, it's not enough just to have a Kubernetes cluster running when you need to ensure reliability and resilience. Covering this complexity on behalf of the Customer is at the heart of Nine's managed GKE. Nine's Managed GKE offering helps customers focus on their core business value by allowing them to focus on their applications and not on the services around them.

Workshop

Nine Kubernetes Academy

The container technology Kubernetes is no longer niche, but a standard – almost nothing works without it. It is an open source platform designed to manage containerized applications and services. Kubernetes supports portability and extensibility while enabling both declarative configuration and automation. The platform is backed by a large and quickly expanding ecosystem, with a wide range of services, support options, and tools readily accessible. Most of the European companies are either already using Kubernetes or testing and researching its implementation, according to a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) survey. In our one-day remote workshop, you learn the basics of Kubernetes and how to use it in practice. You will work side by side with our experts and get answers to your individual questions. After the course, you will have a firm grasp of the «K8s» basics and be able to take your first steps in Kubernetes.
