Docker Theory & Practice:

  • Repetition Docker Container and Container Registry
  • Production-ready application deployment with Docker

Kubernetes Theory & Practice: I:

  • Kubernetes: overview, use cases, ecosystem and community
  • Kubernetes "plain vanilla" vs. cloud provider services
  • Definition of a cluster, node, namespace, pod, and deployment
  • Interaction with  a cluster (kubectl basics)
  • Container deployment on Kubernetes

Kubernetes Theory & Practice II:

  • Volumes, networking, secrets and configmaps
  • Introduction to Helm

Cloud Migration

REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic knowledge of Docker is desired, but will be refreshed at the start of the workshop

  • Knowledge of Linux command line

  • Laptop with admin rights & sudo

Davor Gajic

Davor has been working as a Platform Engineer for Nine since the beginning of 2020 and leads the courses at the Nine Kubernetes Academy. He has taught a considerable number of courses so far and has helped dozens of graduates to take the first steps with Kubernetes. Experienced in front end and back end development, he has successfully completed innumerable projects.

Sebastian Nickel

Sebastian has been working for Nine since 2015 and entered the DevOps universe when Nine’s  platform team was founded. He equally likes working with clients on their specific challenges with Kubernetes and on general automation opportunities within the container environment. Continuous development with the help of modern technology is at the heart of his work.

Cyrill Troxler

Cyrill is a Senior Platform Engineer and has been working at Nine since 2015. With his solid experience in DevOps, Docker and containers, he has supported many of Nine’s clients with their projects.  His main interest lies in infrastructure automation with Kubernetes.
