History
We already began working on our company during our study and initially established Nine as a hosting provider for websites. In parallel to technological progresses, we also evolved and established reputation as the first provider of Dedicated Servers in Switzerland. Today, Nine is a market leader in regard to planning, implementing and supporting complex Internet platforms.
2012
In 2012, the Nine Internet Solutions continued to grow and significantly increased the number of employees. It also began to expand its network and the ISO certification process. A completely new user interface was developed for customers to unite existing and future services in a user-friendly interface. All products with the exception of the Vserver are delivered with Ubuntu LTS as standard. IPv6 addresses are also available on request.
2011
In 2011 Nine has carried out a restructuring of products which has been implemented on the revised website. The existing services have been improved step by step during the year. Therefore it is now possible to offer all products with 100 Mbps flat. Again it was possible to create new jobs because of the constant growing of the company. Moreover the office has been moved to bigger office premises at the Albisriederstrasse 243a.
2010
2010 was characterized by a variety of substantial projects, escpecially in the field of High Availability. These high requirements also demanded an expansion of our infrastructure as well as workforce. Therefore we could increase our backbone to 10 gigabit and started to build additional data center space.
2009
Numerous comprehensive hosting solutions were implemented for our customers. As a result we could double the number of employees to ensure the excellent quality and further growth. Furthermore the datacenter capacities were extended by 300sqm.
2008
The relocation to a new, modern office enabled a further growth in our workforce. In the year 2008 further challenging hosting solutions were implemented, such as the UBS Arena during the European Football Championship with several Managed Servers.
2007
The brand new datacenter colozueri.ch was opened. Therefore Nine is now located in three data centers in three different locations. All three locations are connected by a dark fibre ring. This enables Nine to offer high available sever platforms, distributed over several locations.
2006
Managed servers replaced the previously offered company servers. Our backbone was expanded to one gigabit.
2005
Nine takes over TsunamiHost Lorch, the Internet services of Daniel Lorch. Thanks to the expansion of the data center, new racks in the sizes 1/4 and 1/3 can now be offered.
2004
Nine moves into another data center and adds Dedicated Servers, Colocation and Virtual Servers to its services.
2003
Nine moves into a data center and expands its product range with Server Housing.
2002
Thomas Hug and Philipp Koch found Nine Internet Solutions AG.
1999
The nine.ch domain gets registered and the initial services offered are web hosting products.
