We are delighted to welcome the Swiss Foundation for disabled-accessible technology use, Access for All, at nine.ch and to be able to sponsor them.
As a provider of services, nine.ch appreciates the work of the Access for All foundation and is therefore happy to make the server for the application available free of charge, as their own contribution to breaking down barriers in IT.
The foundation is devoted to increasing awareness of the needs of people with disabilities in the areas of technology and IT and promotes usage in the form of diverse educational measures and application documents. Furthermore, Access for All supports the disabled-access development and adaption of devices in all areas of daily life.
The testing of existing websites for accessibility is one of the foundation’s main services. Within the accessibility review the website design is examined taking into account the needs of people with disabilities and a report generated containing the results and optimisation recommendations, which is then given to the site operator. Noteworthy points here are, for example, the conversion of written text into spoken text or the avoidance of fields that require a high level of navigation.
